Governor Healey’s Youth Climate Council
Governor Maura Healey’s Youth Climate Council is an advisory group established to give Massachusetts youth a direct voice in shaping the state’s climate policy.
As CHAIR of the Env. Justice Committee, proposed climate policies to legislature with a focus on marginalized communities and youth impact, researched a Indigenous Climate Council proposal solving the problem of limited indigenous perspective in climate restoration and spoke at MA climate policy meetings on the Council On Uncertain Human Future

Girls Nation Bill
Girls Nation is a highly competitive mock gov. program that selects 2 rising seniors from every state sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary. There is a rigorous vetting process at state level and panel interviews to pick best (2 of 250+ delegates representing MA schools)
Suravi engaged in mock senate, campaigned for attorney general office, drafted mock ordinances, organized leadership policy scenarios and met official mentors.

Commission for Anti-Racism and Equity (CARE) Act Bill
This is a legislative proposal, supported by nonprofit advocates like Act On Mass, that would establish a commission to develop anti-racist and social justice-focused curricula for Massachusetts schools.
Suravi is a CARE activators fellow organizing a statewide conference with student representation from schools across MA.

DiwaliFest
Supported and lobbied for school calendar day off for Diwali. Cofounded and organized an annual, local, non-profit community fair to participate, learn, and celebrate Diwali together. This event has had 7000 attendees in 3 years, scouted 75+ musicians, performances, local and south-asian owned vendors, food, and community organizations to highlight in the event while recruiting youth leadership and securing grant funding from the MA Cultural Council.
